Having trouble with fuel price hike? Wishing you have had a fuel-efficient car but couldn’t afford it?
Aha! No more worries, the key factor are self-restrain and patience. Here are a few tips to save money in the midst of fuel price escalation by using smart card without the need to buy a new fuel-efficient car of course!
1. Do not push the gas pedal to the floor, the deeper you push it the more fuel needed. To minimize fuel consumption, you must minimize the push on your gas pedal.
2. Do not brake suddenly. Sudden brake or will convert kinetic energy into heat at brake disc, while vehicle kinetic energy is taken from chemical substance contained in the fuel. As much as you can, try to switch transmission to neutral and brake when you are close to the other object.
3. Check the air filter. You can do this yourself, by taking off the air filter and see it through the sun light. If you can’t see the light, you need to change it. A clean air filter play important role in saving fuel. A clogged air filter prevent the air to flow into the engine and will influence engine performance, this will cause the engine to consume much more fuel.
4. Check air pressure of your tires. The air pressure of the tires generally ignored by the drive, low-pressured tires will cause the engine to work extra and consume more fuel. You may check the air pressure when the engine is cold, if you do it while the engine is still hot it will cause the air pressure to escalate.
5. Keep the original rim wheels and tires. New rim wheels and tires will give your car a pretty look and better suspension. Nevertheless, if the tires are bigger than the original factory standard the frictions on the surface will be wider, it cause rotation resistances, which will also contribute to fuel inefficiency.
6. Change the oil at scheduled time. The longer oil usage, the lubricant capability is reduced; this will cause more fuel to convert into heat inside the engine.
Other than the above five points mentioned above, there are other things you need to know:
1. Avoid traffic jam, as this is the main source of fuel consumption, if it is necessary, you may go home when the road is quiet, or find long route alternative road to avoid traffic jam.
2. Park your car in the shade of building or trees whenever possible. If you cannot find a shady place to park, use sun reflector to minimize heat to enter your car. If your car’s interior is heated, it will cause the AC to work extra, especially at the time when you just start the engine
3. Control your emotion. Feeling emotion when driving will likely waste fuel (pushing gas pedal too the floor, sudden brake). You may be young blooded but don’t make your pocket bleed.
So drive smartly and safely guys!
